CSR Code of Best Practice of Suppliers
  • Polskie Zakłady Zbożowe "PZZ" w Krakowie S.A., hereinafter referred to as the "Company", is one of the largest grain and milling plants in Poland.
  • Social responsibility is an important part of the Company's strategy.
  • The Company's business activities are conducted with the highest ethical standards, based on a system of values consisting of responsibility, compliance with the highest standards and rules of fair business conduct.
  • Suppliers are expected to adhere to the standards and policies that the Company itself applies in its business operations.
  • "The CSR Code of Best Practice of Suppliers" is a set of principles for both the Company and all its Suppliers, and conducting business in accordance with this Code and promoting its values is an important criterion for the qualification and evaluation of potential Suppliers.
The Company's obligations towards the Suppliers in terms of environmental protection
The Company takes into account the rights and needs of the environment and strives to implement solutions to support environmental impact management. It tries to limit the negative consequences of its activities on the environment by implementing pro-ecological initiatives, engaging employees in environmental protection activities. The Company strives to act in an environmentally friendly manner, e.g. by cleaning and afforesting the nearby Niepołomice Forest and other forest resources, reducing the consumption of raw materials and natural resources, including water, and to manage them rationally. The company strives for continuous reduction of paper consumption, responsible waste management or improvement of the energy balance, including the real estate used.
The Company's expectations towards the Suppliers in terms of environmental protection
The Company remains confident that each Supplier adheres to the same environmental principles and expects that Supplier:
  • strives to reduce the amount of waste produced, separates the waste already produced and transfers it to recycling companies, thus influencing the use of secondary raw materials,
  • properly disposes of hazardous waste, minimizes emissions of greenhouse gases, fumes and dust,
  • provides wheat sourced exclusively from deforestation-free areas,
  • manages its fleet of cars wisely, choosing vehicles with lower capacity, fuel consumption and therefore emissions,
  • reduces water consumption and prevents water pollution, takes active measures to protect the environment, promotes such behaviour among its employees and contractors.
The Company's obligations towards the Suppliers in terms of social standards
The Company conducts its business activities in compliance with generally applicable laws, all rules of occupational safety, health protection and respect for human rights. The Company achieves this goal by complying with applicable laws and internal regulations such as: Labour Code, Occupational Health and Safety Instructions, Regulations for Management of the Company's Social Benefits Fund, Code of Ethics, Policy on Counteracting Corruption and Bribery, Policy on Counteracting Discrimination and Mobbing, Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct.
The Company's expectations towards the Suppliers in terms of social standards
The Company also wants to have an impact on shaping the attitudes of its Suppliers in this regard. Therefore, it expects that Suppliers respect and will respect human and labour rights and will prevent discrimination in the conduct of their business, and expects that Supplier:
  • ensures respect for human rights in its operations and firmly rejects the use of child labour and complies with applicable laws prohibiting child labour,
  • does not tolerate any form of slave or forced labor,
  • complies with the law, acts with integrity and prevents all forms of corruption in its activities,
  • respects employee rights and provides safe and suitable working conditions for its employees,
  • ensures equal treatment in the workplace and does not engage in any discriminatory practices based on age, gender, disability or race,
  • manages employees and the workplace in a responsible manner (e.g., ensuring the development of employee competencies, taking care of employees' work-life balance) and defines its objectives in this regard.

The Company conducts its activities in accordance with applicable laws and internal regulations, which ensure the highest standards of production quality, interpersonal relations and integrity in business. The Company's values allow for continuous improvement of the standards of its operations and are intended to support the strategic vision of the Company's development
The Company's obligations towards the Suppliers in terms of ethic standards
The Company also wants to have an impact on shaping the attitudes of its Suppliers in this regard. Therefore, it expects that Suppliers respect and will respect the Company's ethical principles and expects that Supplier:
  • applies the highest business standards in terms of fair and free competition as well as reliability and trustworthiness in communications with clients,
  • counteracts corruption and conflict of interest by, among other things, an absolute prohibition on giving or offering undue benefits to anyone in exchange for a specific action or omission,
  • protects and does not disclose confidential information obtained in the course of cooperation,
  • avoids and prevents a situation conducive to a conflict of interest in the process of applying to work with the Company,
  • ensures that its employees are continually educated on the applicable ethical standards in business operations and the laws that govern the conduct covered in this Code.
